Kia EV9
In recent years, Kia has emerged as a surprise market leader, and the recent unveiling of the Kia EV9 shows the automaker is still going strong. We’re all anticipating the three-row all-electric SUV, so there’s a lot to be excited about.
The Power
As with any electric car, the first question about the Kia EV9 was: how quickly can it be charged? Kia states the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 to 30 minutes. The mileage per charge is around 300 miles, keeping up with other electric rivals.
Getting that mileage requires a bigger battery, and that’s quite feasible, as there is plenty of space between the axles, leaving enough room for the battery. In addition to the retractable roof and alloy wheels with aerodynamic plates, Kia has used traditional side mirrors instead of cameras to maximize the battery range.
Sleek Exterior
The Kia EV9 sits tall and upright with a unique, bold look, adventurous style, and a large footprint that is trendy among all high-performing SUVs. Tinted pillars create the image of a floating roof that fits right in with this tall electric concept.
Coming in at 194 inches in length, 81 inches in width, 70 inches in height, and a wheelbase of 122 inches, the seven-seater is undoubtedly a ride with a visually stunning design. The angular, rugged design with unique fenders and LED lights make the wheels pop out visually.
Eco-Friendly, Spacious Interior
Inside, the Kia EV9 is as enticing as its exterior. The spacious interior features a 27-inch display that houses various functions, such as the climate control and infotainment system enhancing comfort for the whole family. Thanks to the wide panoramic sunroof, you get sunlight and a sense of tranquility along with a smooth ride.
Of course, Kia has taken sustainability to a new level by making the flooring out of recycled mesh, the seats out of recycled plastic, and the entire interior is leather. The twist? Kia used vegan leather for the upholstery, showing Kia is utilizing their humane view to minimize the use of animal leather in its vehicles. This is a path that all manufacturers can follow after Kia.

Safety Suite
Kia pulled out all the stops to ensure the safety of EV9 drivers, providing a Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM) system to see blind spots in real time on the digital instrument panel. Safety is further enhanced by Driver Wise, Kia’s driver aid feature. Using various metrics, Driver Wise can detect pedestrians, avoid head-on collisions, monitor blind spots, navigate easily with Intelligent Cruise Control, and improve the overall safety of the EV9 for you and your family.
The Kia EV9 is anticipated to drop in late 2023 for the 2024 models with an anticipated starting price of $50,000, additional options may vary.
