Kia America and Kia Georgia announced a joint $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross of Georgia

Tornado season in Georgia is typically March through May. As of February 14th, 33 tornadoes had struck Georgia. The numerous tornadoes that struck on January 9th and 12th resulted in a state of emergency, with all agencies responding. The January 12th tornado was the most significant, reaching winds of 150 mph and staying on the ground for 31.9 miles, giving it a rating of EF-3. There were other tornadoes that day as well, and several tornadoes merged.
So many people were impacted by this devastation that Kia America and Kia Georgia jointly donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross of Georgia in support of tornado relief resources. More than 500 homes were destroyed or damaged, including at least a dozen Kia team members from Kia’s US manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia. Kia has delivered supplies on-site at its West Point Georgia plant, and with this support, Red Cross Volunteers will deliver safe shelter, food and comfort to those in need.
